L.A. Times, shut yo mouth.

Two months ago the newspaper said television-to-big screen project Dark Shadows “appears to be kaput.” But Variety reports that Johnny Depp’s production outfit Infinitum Nihil “is working with GK Films and [Warner Bros.] on a film transfer of Dark Shadows that will have Depp playing Barnabas Collins.”

Terrific, but the actor is still wading through several potential films at the moment including another turn as Hunter S. Thompson in The Rum Diary which he’ll begin next March with writer-director Bruce Robinson. For a rundown of his other projects click here.
