Alfonso Cuaron and Guillermo del Toro are not just doing vocal work for James Bond movies like Quantum of Solace these days, they’ve got a grocery list of projects they’re working on respectively.
In regards to Del Toro, he prepping for a lil’ flick called The Hobbit. And, as Cuaron tells Empire Magazine, Del Toro may be directing a new version of Roald Dahl’s The Witches. The news here is that the duties are flip-flopping. Cuaron was reported to direct two years back with Del Toro producing. Now, according to Cuaron, Del Toro is aiming to helm a stop-motion version of the Dahl property once adapted by Nicolas Roeg.
“I think it started because I’ve always wanted to do a version of Roald Dahl’s very naughty Uncle Oswald,” says Cuaron. “So we were talking to Lucy Dahl, when we got onto the subject of The Witches. Then Guillermo wrote this amazing screenplay really quickly.”
As we’ve said in the past, when it comes to Del Toro, you never know what he’s going to do post-Hobbit until he’s behind the camera.
