Rona to Storm Joel Silver’s Dark Castle?

Rogue pictures president departing in ’09

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rogue Pictures co-prez Andrew Rona is eyeing to leave the genre house behind The Strangers (and its upcoming sequel) for Silver Pictures and its horror outfit Dark Castle.

He’ll take a spot filled by Silver Pictures president Susan Downey, who is not expected to renew her contract when it expires in February.

The news comes as Rogue and Relativity explore a potential deal that would have the genre label leaving Universal to join Ryan Kavanaugh’s hedge fund-backed producer-financier. Rogue has been overseen by co-presidents Rona and Focus president Andrew Karpen.

We’re hoping Rona’s possible ’09 departure doesn’t shake up forthcoming projects such as Hack/Slash and the other titles Rogue has in the pipeline.
