AFM ’08: Park Chan-Wook’s Thirst Goes to Tartan

Oldboy helmer’s vampire film

CJ Entertainment has pre-sold Park Chan-wook’s Thirst to the UK’s Palisades Tartan.

Palisades Tartan is a subsidiary of Palisades Media Corp., a New York-based film finance and distribution company with offices in London, NY and LA. They previously picked up the former Tartan library with other Park Chan-wook films.

Thirst finds Song Kang-ho, of The Host, playing a much-loved priest who becomes a vampire after a failed medical experiment and thus turns into a tortured and depraved soul.

Universal Pictures and Focus Features came aboard the film in 2009 to co-finance its production.
