AFM ’08: Sullivan Sets Up Two Maniacs Sequels!

Financing finally set up

It appears Tim Sullivan’s long-mooted sequel to 2001 Maniacs, 2001 Maniacs: Beverly Hellbillys will now be joined by a third chapter, 2001 Maniacs: The Hillbillys Have Eyes.

IM Global Home Entertainment has acquired the worlwide rights to both installments, both geared for the DVD market. Sullivan is being funded by the Los Angeles-based Social Capital Films and Tax Credit Finances of Rhode Island.

The sequels follow 2005’s 2001 Maniacs which found eight college students traveling to Florida for Spring Break who stumble into a remote town in Georgia where they are set upon by the residents who are out to avenge their deaths by Union troops over 100 years earlier during the Civil War.
