Turistas director takes on werewolves?
Turistas helmer John Stockwell is replacing Ezna Sands in the director’s chair for Stone Village Pictures’ untitled horror project formerly known as Lobo.
Sands was attached to Dikran Ornekian and Ryan Colucci’s script in August (more details). Sources tell us he departed over creative differences. A revised synopsis from the American Film Market doesn’t drop any hints of lycanthropy – a telling nugget of info released when the film was first announced.
Seeking a missing woman in the jungles of Brazil, a mysterious stranger finds himself caught in the conflict between a small town with a strange, savage secret and a religious army known as The Brotherhood, bent on destroying it.
Will the werewolves remain? We’ll see.
Stockwell’s credits include Into the Blue; he also starred in Christine.
