It’s “going to be insane”
In our exclusive interview with Darren Bousman (Repo! The Genetic Opera), the director reveals Scott Milam is penning the Mother’s Day remake we last updated you on here.
Milam penned the unproduced screenplay Wichita which garnered some heat for its gritty and unsettling subject matter. Sources tell us he is also penning a remake of RKO’s 1946 thriller Bedlam starring Boris Karloff.
Bousman says Milam is going to be imbuing his twisted sensibilities into the Mother’s redo. “Our version of Mother’s Day is going to be insane. It’s not going to be the Charlie Kaufman version, it will be insane, and it will be probably be the most disturbing thing that I’ve ever done. What we’re talking about doing right now is going to offend everybody, and that’s what I want to do. I want to offend people.”
Bousman is unsure whether Mother’s Day will be his next project.
