It wasn’t entirely false
Paul Andrew Williams was flirting with 28 Months Later after all.
Earlier this month it was rumored the director of The Cottage was in line to do a threequel in Andrew Macdonald and Danny Boyle’s “infected” seriesn (read here). Then came confirmation from Twitch Film that this was indeed false.
Well, that’s not exactly true either…
Fangoria caught up to producer Macdonald who says Williams was developing a third film, a prequel to 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later. Needless to say, his involvement didn’t pan out and his idea was shuffled into the pitch pile Macdonald and Boyle had been amassing after the release of Weeks.
Mcdonald tells Fangoria Boyle has a concept for part three, but it’s still in the early stages.
