Ninth Gate, Donnie Brasco vet
Character actor James Russo is set to co-star in the psychological thriller Dark Woods (first details).
Russo played opposite Johnny Depp in Roman Polanski’s The Ninth Gate and also appeared in Beverly Hills Cop, Open Range and Donnie Brasco.
Dark Woods, which stars Tracy Coogan, is written by John Muscanero and directed by Mike Escobedo.
The story, said to be based on true events, follows a couple who moves to a secluded cabin in the woods to cope with a terminal illness of the wife. As the wife’s condition drags her deeper into dementia and darkness, the husband’s friendship with a local teenage girl takes a dangerous and obsessive turn.
