Taking a modern approach this time?
Update: Now B-D reports a writer has already been attached, but the approach isn’t skewed towards the Internet. Instead, the “multimedia” approach is more in line with something akin to Ghost Hunters and other shows of that ilk.
Forget the haunted dollhouse and clocks or whatever items the Amityville Horror sequels decided to exploit after the third entry arrived in 1983…the next Amityville may tap the horrors of the Internet!
Yes, yes – sometimes it does sometimes seem message boards users are possessed, but MGM is reportedly eyeing to take the franchise into the world of multimedia.
The studio’s on-again/off-again interest in developing a sequel to the 2005 Amityville Horror remake is heating up again. According to B-D, MGM is once again going out to writers to pen a new direct-to-DVD film centered around spooks and the ‘net.
Yeah, good luck with that.
