An odd thriller in an odd setting
Philippe Martinez is currently in Grand Rapids, Michigan helming a new thriller entitled The Steam Experiment.
Nope, it’s not a saucy late-night Cinemax offering. It stars Val Kilmer, Armand Assante, Eric Roberts, Megan Brown and Patrick Muldoon. According to THR (I’m putting this in their own words), the story finds Kilmer playing “a former university professor who overheats his hostages to prove that humans will devolve into chaos under the pressures of global warming. He tells a detective (Assante) that their location will be revealed if his hypothesis is printed as the local paper’s front-page headline.”
Co-stars Eve Mauro, Quinn Duffy, Cordelia Reynolds, Muldoon, Roberts and Brown play Kilmer’s victims who are battling for survival under extreme temperatures in an urban Turkish bathhouse.
Rob Malkani wrote the script, Cinepro Pictures is producing.
