An ode to Hollywood’s FX vets
Writer Miles Gunter and artist Kelsey Shannon have completed the first issue in a four-part comic book series lovingly titled Yeti vs. Vampire. The premise is simple: A fashionista bloodsucker seeks the hide of a Yeti for the purposes of turning it into a coat for her Milan runway show. Yeti ain’t goin’ down without a fight. In a recent interview with Comic Monsters, Gunter called the book “a love letter to the prosthetic make-up effects wizards Rick Baker, Stan Winston and Rob Bottin.” Look for the title, courtesy of Antarctic Press, at a comic shop near you on October 29th.
