From Strangers exec producer
Sony’s genre division, Screen Gems, purchased Sonny Mallhi’s spec script Roommate. Mallhi, a top dog over at Vertigo Entertainment, recently executive produced The Strangers. He penned the screenplay and sent it out under a pseudonym so, according to Variety, “it would be given fair consideration in the marketplace.”
Roommate, set in the tenuous world of college dorm life, pulls together two strangers, Sara and Rebecca, to live in a freshman hall. Their relationship goes great until Rebecca starts to get a bit nutty and target Sara’s pals.
Mallhi will co-produce the picture under the Vertigo banner with Roy Lee, Doug Davison and Irene Yeung. Vertigo and Screen Gems currently have Quarantine (set visit) on the way October 10th.http://sbx.shocktillyoudrop.com/news/topnews.php?id=6958
