Resident Evil: Degeneration Site & Synopsis!

The CGI feature film sequel

Like the dreaded T-virus, Resident Evil is one resilient property.

Yes, Paul W.S. Anderson recently dropped some hints about the possibility of a Resident Evil 4, but one project much further along than another live-action follow-up is Resident Evil: Degeneration, the CG-animated feature film from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and Capcom.

Sony has launched a site for the film and with it, a production blog, trailer and plot synopsis.

The “Umbrella Incident” that took place in Raccoon City was ended with the eradication of the deadly virus by a missile attack ordered by the government. As its operations were suspended on a global scale, Umbrella Corporation stock plummeted. This serious blow to the business giant resulted in its complete dissolution.

7 years later, at an airport somewhere in the United States. An ordinary autumn afternoon. One zombie is unleashed into this peaceful scene to attack everyone. In the airport starting to fill up with the undead, the horrific disaster is about to be repeat itself…

San Diego Comic-Con attendees will be the first to see more footage from Resident Evil: Degeneration during a panel on Friday, July 25th (details). Degeneration is expecting to debut on DVD sometime this fall.
