Gothic Horror Returns in Vincent Price Presents

A new label from Bluewater Productions

He cut a sinister presence in films like The Masque of Red Death, The Tingler, The House on Haunted Hill and other old school fright features; now, he’s about to make a comeback in the world of comics.

Bluewater Productions struck a deal with the Vincent Price estate for a new line of pulp-rooted terror series called Vincent Price Presents. The monthly title features Price (who passed away in ’93) as a “host, muse, background player, and protagonist.” It’s the first time the actor’s likeness has been officially licensed for a comic book.

Price’s daughter, Victoria, helped seal up the deal with Bluewater. “I’m really touched and excited about the series because it will help energize my father’s legacy for a new generation,” she says. “We’re planning a big celebration for his 100th birthday in 2010, and this comic series fits into those plans perfectly.”

Bluewater president Darren Davis revealed they intend to explore sequel potential to some of Price’s early classics. Dan Crosier is on board to provide cover art as well as to pen a few stories. Bluewater has found success with their Ray Harryhausen Presents and 10th Muse comics.

Look for Vincent Price Presents this October.
