Hickox dishes some dirt
An update of Anthony Hickox’s 1988 cult fave Waxwork – starring Zach Galligan, Deborah Foreman and Michelle Johnson (yum) – has been rumored for a while now. It’s progress is sluggish at best. In a recent interview with Fangoria, Hickox reveals what may be holding it up.
The guy who owns the rights to it is dying to remake it, but he doesn’t get along with one of the other producers from the original,” the director says. “However, I’m sure they will work something out. If they do that, it still needs to be campy – and the mummy would have to move a lot faster than it did in mine! If they do get it going, my only request is to do a cameo appearance.”
Hickox also comments on Lionsgate’s upcoming DVD release of Sundown: A Vampire in Retreat, a film due for a proper presentation. Click here for the interview.
