Big theatrical release planned
Freestyle Releasing, those responsible for distributing 2005’s An American Haunting, have picked up release rights to The Haunting of Molly Hartley. Freestyle is eyeing a 2,000 screen debut this Halloween. That’s an impressive roll-out.
Mickey Liddell’s directorial debut stars Chace Crawford (Gossip Girl), Haley Bennett, AnnaLynne McCord (Day of the Dead), Jake Weber (Dawn of the Dead ’04), Jessica Lowndes (Autopsy and Josh Stewart (Midnight Man).
According to the IMDB, Bennett plays “Molly, a seventeen-year-old girl who recently moved to a new town for a fresh start after her mother’s terrifying psychotic break. While struggling to find her place amongst the cliques at her new private school, she becomes haunted by disturbing visions and voices that expose a dark secret from her past. Can she separate fact from fiction before it’s too late?”
John Travis and Rebecca Sonnenshine penned the script. Travis is responsible for the upcoming Kevin Costner supernatural thriller The New Daughter.
