Three-alarm fire breaks out on backlot
Some breaking news from Universal City this morning…
An early-morning fire broke out on the Universal Studios backlot spreading from a soundstage to surrounding areas. More than 400 Los Angeles firefighters are on the scene trying to temper a blaze which has destroyed the studio tour’s King Kong attraction, the New York street and town square areas, the video vault and various sets.
Officials do not know the cause of the blaze. There have been six fires reported in Universal’s history, including a large one that occurred 18 years ago.
