Ed Wood turkey is being remade
Does Ed Wood’s Plan 9 from Outer Space need to be redone with a serious approach to it? Darkstone Entertainment’s Joe Johnson seems to believe so. He’s at work on the aptly-titled Plan 9, a remake to bow on September 9, 2009 to mark the 50th anniversary of Wood’s film.
According to the official site: “The remake will be a serious-minded retelling of the original story, paying homage to the spirit of Wood’s film without resorting to camp or parody. The film will focus on the horror and science fiction aspects of the original, but will also be largely character-driven.”
Original Plan 9 alum Conrad Brooks is participating and seems to be okay with all of this (Why not when there’s money involved?). Time will tell if this plan comes to fruition.
