What else is he working on?
After a long wait, horror fans will finally be introduced to Bryan Bertino’s The Strangers, starring Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman who, in the film, become victims of a home invasion. With it’s May 30th release from Rogue Pictures closing in, has Bertino been mulling over follow-up ideas in the event of having a genre hit on his hands?
“I feel that if there’s a great idea they should make a sequel,” he tells ShockTillYouDrop.com. “Not make a sequel then come up with an idea. I spent so much of the last few years making The Strangers and trying to get it to a certain place that I haven’t been thinking about anything other than trying to make it the best movie I could be. I’ve turned in my paper and I’m ready to get a grade.”
When we spoke to him at Comic-Con (interview), the young director revealed he was at work on another horror picture. “It’s a script I really love and Scott Rudin’s got it. I’ve been really fortunate in the last six months to have the time to write a lot of different things. There are a lot of different possibilities. The more people are going to talk about The Strangers, the more doors are going to open up for me. The thing I’m most happy about is that I have more stories to tell.”
