Henkel Oils Up Another Chainsaw Film

Get ready for a modern-day Leatherface?

He co-scripted the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre with Tobe Hooper. In ’97, he returned, this time at the helm of Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation. Now, Kim Henkel’s got a new Chainsaw film in the early development stage, sans Platinum Dunes.

Henkel tells Fangoria, “I’ve just done the first draft, and I’m still unsure of which way I’m going to go with it. However, it’s the first time since the original that I’ve done something that I wanted to do with it. I’m excited about being able to truly realize what I’ve put down on paper.”

He adds the plot is “set in the present” and “moves things forward.” We’ve got to say, however, that this puzzles us since the The Next Generation was already sorta set in “modern day,” no?
