After Dark to Produce Faithless & Perkins 14

Two original genre productions

The House of Solomon, After Dark Films, announced today that it will produce a pair of original horror films beginning this month in Romania.

As we told you in this report, the one is entitled Perkins 14, the first feature film developed entirely via the internet. Craig Singer – whose Dark Ride made the first wave of AD’s 8 Films to Die For – will direct and Lane Shadgett (Luna Park) will write the screenplay based on a pitch by Jeremy Donaldson. Perkins 14 revolves around the arrest of a suspected murderer and the bloodshed that follows. Chris Milburn and Matthew Kuipers are producing.

Also on the slab: Faithless, about a young woman who flees from her life of abuse, settles down on a family farm and discovers something cruel waiting for her there. Stewart Hopewell will direct from a script he co-wrote with Tim Long. On producing duties are Milburn, Kuipers, Aimée Barth and Eryl Cochran Woodlief.

After Dark’s Courtney Solomon, Laura Ivey and Stephanie Caleb will shepherd both projects along as executive producers.

“Both Faithless and Perkins 14 are thrilling and provocative and are prime examples of the type of films we will continue to deliver – great horror flicks that delve far deeper than most other films in this genre,” states Solomon in a press release. “It’s great to see the Horrorfest slate take shape as we gear up for this year’s fest. This move into producing films as part of Horrorfest is a new initiative and these two films are great examples to launch this concept.”
