Senator Ent. to produce vid game adaptation
The Weinstein Company is offloading another film onto Senator Entertainment.
Variety reports Senator is producing the long-delayed Clock Tower, a horror film based on the popular video game of the same name, with The Hills Have Eyes 2 directors Martin Weisz (pictured) on board. That means no Eric Valette.
A script by Eric Poppen (Borderland) will be used and the plot is said to have taken its inspiration from the second Clock Tower game, subtitled The Struggle Within. In it, a young girl is locked away in a mental hospital struggling with the curse that has plagued her family.
Marco Weber is producing. Filming gets underway in July.
Last year, The Weinstein Company dropped All the Boys Love Mandy Lane into Senator’s hands for distribution.
