Spring release date considered
Fangoria reports Magnolia is close to sealing up an acquisition deal for Jack Ketchum’s Red. An announcement is imminent with a possible release slated for this spring. The company’s track record includes the distribution of Severance, The Host and The Signal.
Starring Brian Cox (who owns every frame), Red follows an older gent who is seeking retribution for the death of his dog at the hands of three teens. Trygve Diesen and Lucky McKee share directing credits. Horror fave Robert Englund rears his head for a small role.
The film made its debut at Sundance in January.
