Future unknown for MGM thriller
The wait for The Poughkeepsie Tapes goes on…
A PR firm handling MGM’s horror film has informed us this evening that “Poughkeepsie” is being bounced from its February 8th bow – this after a recent debut of the trailer and official one-sheet (which can both be found here). Officially, the release date is now “to be determined.”
MGM acquired the Dowdle brothers’ faux documentary last year at the Tribeca Film Festival. Accounts of a sour reception found their way on-line after a Texas screening last month. This could have prompted the studio to second-guess their theatrical release.
The Dowdles are now at work on Quarantine for Sony. Stay tuned for more on “Poughkeepsie’s release as it comes in.
