Vampire thriller from producers of The Strangers, Doomsday
ShockTillYouDrop.com was tipped off by an insider about an recent acquisition made by Intrepid Pictures. It appears the company behind Bryan Bertino’s upcoming home invasion thriller The Strangers and Neil Marshall’s Doomsday has picked up the rights to the horror-thriller comic book The Bond of Saint Marcel and its screenplay, both by Jennifer Quintenz (“Wicked, Wicked Games,” “American Heiress”).
Here’s a plot synopsis from comic publisher Archaia Studios Press: Catherine Johnstone is the black sheep in an old Boston family whose wealth and influence stretches back to the American Revolution. When Cat’s family is murdered, she discovers that the only one who can save her life is Eamann, a vampire that was bonded into her family’s service against its will 200 years ago. Running for her life, Cat forms an unlikely friendship with Eamann. But as she uncovers more about her family’s past, they discover the killers are only hunting Cat in order to set Eamann free.
The six-issue mini-series is due to hit stores in April 2008 with Christian Gossett (“Red Star”) on illustration duties. We’ll bring you more details on the movie deal as they firm up.
