Goyer Helming Mignola, Golden’s Baltimore!

Vampire graphic novel coming to the screen

Just a few days ago a graphic novel caught my eye entitled Baltimore, or The Steadfast Tin Soldier and the Vampire. Lengthy, I know, but penned by the team Mike Mignola (“Hellboy”) and Christopher Golden. It looked impressive and worth the read.

Well, David Goyer (Blade: Trinity, The Invisible) has apparently been moved enough to make a feature film for New Regency. The story follows Lord Henry Baltimore, a man who sees his family wiped out by vampirism (himself infected by a “demonic bat” during World War I) and gathers three friends to help him fight a supernatural force known as the Red King.

John Baldecchi (Ultraviolet) and Stacy Maes are producing with Mignola and Golden writing the screenplay. No time table was given in regards to a production start or where this falls into Goyer’s busy schedule.

The man’s doin’ a Magneto spin-off film, after all. Priorities, priorities, right?
