And, Rodar has Eyes for thriller
Rodar y Rodar, a Spanish-based production company headed up by Joaquin Padro and Mar Targarona, is gearing up for two projects with eerie potential.
The first is called Julia’s Eyes, a “chiller” about a young woman investigating her blind sister’s suicide. Guillem Morales is writing and directing; he’s responsible for the creepy El habitante incierto (“The Uncertain Guest”) which is on the U.S. remake slab. Morales’ “Eyes” will be an English language effort utilizing an English cast.
Then there’s The Homecoming from The Orphanage writer Sergio G. Sánchez who’s making his directorial debut. This one – again, an English language film – finds a brother and sister who venture to an island on a family getaway. Once they reach the mainland, however, they find they have returned to a world without people.
Shooting will begin in 2008. Sánchez also penned another script for Guillermo del Toro entitled 3993, a ghost story.
