Maiden frontman writes a horror movie
Bruce Dickinson: Bad-ass frontman for Iron Maiden…now, screenwriter?
Appears so, various sources, including Screen Daily, are reporting that shooting began earlier this month on Chemical Wedding, a feature written by Dickinson and directed by former Terry Gilliam collaborator Julian Doyle.
With a title cribbed from Dickinson’s 1998 album, the film concerns itself with a Cambridge professor who becomes the re-incarnation of occultist Aleister Crowley. Actor Simon Callow (The Phantom of the Opera) will undergo this Jekyll & Hyde-esque transformation. John Shrapnel, Kal Webber and Lucy Cudden co-star.
Focus Films is producing. The budget is said to be in the $2.5 million range.
