Splashes heard from the black lagoon
We’re nearing the two year anniversary since Breck Eisner (Sahara) was officially announced as the director of Universal’s Creature from the Black Lagoon remake.
The waters have been calm ever since, but it sounds as if everyone’s favorite Creature may surfacing once again, only this time under Universal’s Strike Entertainment banner.
Variety reports Eisner is now in pre-production on the update, still working from a script by Gary Ross. Strike is producing alongside the latter.
The company has had their paws in a sundry of genre projects such as 2004’s Dawn of the Dead remake, James Gunn’s Slither and Children of Men. They’re also currently developing another incarnation of The Thing.
