Horror and exploitation faves remembered
Who doesn’t love a good movie trailer? They can excite you. Manipulate your expectations. Sometimes they’re better than the damn movie they were out to pimp to the multiplex masses.
Grindhouse recently reaffirmed the “cool factor” of adroit trailer-assembling and now a handful of directors can be seen at Trailers from Hell heaping love upon some of their favorite previews.
Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead), John Landis (An American Werewolf in London), Joe Dante (The Howling), Mick Garris (“Masters of Horror”), Mary Lambert (Pet Sematary) and more are laying in commentaries over trailers for films like Danger: Diabolik, House on Haunted Hill and The Terror.
Right now the adoration is being felt at both the aforementioned site as well as Sprint’s “Fun Little Movies” channel. According to Variety, producer Elizabeth Stanley is looking to “package” the shorts for an on-demand service. Nickels Group will distribute.
