Rogue jumps into WWII supernatural mayhem
A rich and extensive commercial background, and a short film entitled “Prey Alone,” has landed Irish directors Stephen St. Leger and James Mather their first feature. The duo will write and helm The Lost Squad, based on the Devil’s Due comic book.
It’s the second comic book property in the works at Rogue Pictures. And not coincidentally, the two Devil’s Due titles they do hold are both being produced by Dan Alter and Adrian Askarieh. Hack/Slash, directed by Todd Lincoln, is the other piece of prime pulp fiction awaiting a live-action rebirth.
“Lost Squad,” created by Chris Kirby, sets its premise in the heat of WWII and follows a team of Allied soldiers as they battle supernatural menaces unleashed by Hitler.
Alter hints this will stray from the familiar cinema verite vibe of Saving Private Ryan and delve more into the stylized fare of 300.
