In a brand new special edition DVD
Lionsgate Home Entertainment will release a new special edition DVD of Lewis Teague’s Cujo on September 25th. Until now, Stephen King fans have had to settle with a previous Artisan disc release, however, they may not be happy to discover that the upcoming presentation of the ’83 adaptation will be presented full-frame.
Nevertheless, what it lacks in the problematic tech department, it more than makes up for in the bonus features. Produced by Laurent Bouzereau (Christine: SE, most of Spielberg’s discs), a three-part documentary called “Dog Days: The Making of ‘Cujo'” covers the origins of the films, principal photography and working with the massive St. Bernard.
Dan Pintauro, Dee Wallace, Lewis Teague, King enthusiast/biographer Douglas E. Winter, producer Daniel H. Blatt and Robert Singer were all interviewed for the piece. Expect a Teague commentary, too.
