Do these apes want to live forever?
The Starship Troopers films are always good for a healthy dose of gore, political propaganda and giant insects tearing the crap out of people. First film? Awesome. I know I’m in the minority when I say that. Second film? Not a fan, but I know folks who dig it. If subsequent films were made to reflect our current political climate, I say bring ’em on. Keep trying until one gets it right.
A third film is indeed in the works with Ed Numeier writing and directing. Ed, if you recall, penned the first two entries as well as Paul Verhoeven’s other ultra-violent sci-fi adventure Robocop.
Casper Van Dien (pictured) is said to return to Starship Troopers: Marauder as Johnny Rico, now a general leading his own platoon against the invading bug menace. Marnette Patterson, Anthony Bishop, Boris Kodjoe and, according to Moviehole, FHM model Tanya van Graan co-star. The site reports shooting was expected to begin last month but may be pushed back.
