Director hopes to begin when?
According to the L.A. Times, Kevin Smith is still set to direct his horror film Red State (previous news item here) by the end of this year. The writer-director just completed writing his sex comedy Zack and Miri Make a Porno for The Weinstein Co. with the intention to shoot that next February.
Red State, however, is the story “about outsiders who stumble into ‘fundamentalism gone to the extreme’ in Middle America.” The Times goes on to say that Smith is keeping the script under wraps allowing it to be seen strictly in his home and with an invite only. That goes for all Hollywood power players.
“Horror is more than a dude with a chain saw,” Smith tells the paper.
