Musical rendition of Argento giallo
The audition process is over for Profondo Rosso: The Musical, an Italian stage production of none other than Dario Argento’s 1975 Deep Red.
A web page was established here a few months back and it has been reported elsewhere Argento will serve as an artistic director, giallo vet Sergio Stivaletti is doing FX and Goblin’s Claudio Simonetti is writing the music.
This weekend, however, we’ve been tipped off that an actress cut from Argento’s oeuvre may be contributing. “I have been contacted but we are still negotiating,” Coralina Cataldi-Tassoni (Opera) tells Shock. It’s a big year for both Cataldi and Argento – this October sees the premiere of the latter’s Mother of Tears (read our last item here) which Cataldi also co-stars in.
The curtains rise on Profondo Rosso: The Musical either later this year or sometime in 2008.
