1408’s previous competition moved
The Weinstein brothers recently moved John Cusack thriller 1408 from July 13 to June 22. Presumably one of the reasons was that it wouldn’t open against another thriller; Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman-starrer The Strangers.
While Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is also scheduled for the 13th, the brothers probably should have kept 1408 where it was, as Rogue Pictures has now pushed The Strangers back to an undetermined date.
Will this be an incentive for them to move 1408 back? We’ll have to wait and see.
