Season 1 of the South Korean sci-fi romantic comedy series premiered on January 7, 2025. It just concluded on March 21, 2025. As such, it’s possible that Coupang Play, the series’ original streaming platform, and the series creators have only just started determining the series’ future.
However, Newtopia’s lead actor, Park Jeong-min, addressed discussions about Season 2. While he did not confirm a renewal, he expressed his hopes for what he would like to see in a potential second season.
While attending a press conference on January 7, 2025, ahead of the series’ release, Jeong-min noted that he and his co-star, Blackpink’s Jisoo, did not share many romantic scenes, calling it “a bit of shame.” (via Sportskeeda)
“I’d love another opportunity to work with her,” he added. “If Newtopia does well, wouldn’t it be great to properly explore that in a Season 2 with JISOO? I’ll be looking forward to it.”

A zombie outbreak triggers a national emergency and a plane crash in the city center, changing their lives forever. Amid the chaos, Jae-yoon and his unit find themselves trapped in a Seoul skyscraper. Young-joo then braves all odds in order to find and reunite with Jae-yoon.
