During their appearance on Spotify’s Countdown To on March 19, the couple shared a humorous memory from the early days of their relationship while driving around Los Angeles.
Blanco asked Gomez if she remembered the first party they attended together. While unsure if it was their very first, Gomez recalled a specific night when they went to Taylor Swift’s party after an awards show.
She said, “I don’t know if this was the first but it was actually really funny.” However, when they arrived, they realized they were the only ones there. Gomez admitted that showing up exactly on time wasn’t as “cool” as she had thought. She said, “I don’t know it was kind of cute, but I was mortified. Apparently, cool people don’t show up to parties on time.”
Blanco teased her, joking that they always end up being the first ones at every event when they go together. He quipped, “You show up when like my mother shows up to a party.” The couple also pointed out that at the time, no one knew they were dating and they had been keeping their relationship a secret.
