Why is Keanu Reeves’ John Wick fighting Eve in Ballerina?
The Director likely summons Reeves’ John Wick to stop Eve, who is determined to take down those responsible for her father’s demise. Wick intervenes in her mission and presents her with two conditions: either she leaves or gets killed. When she refuses to halt her mission, it sets up an ultimate fight sequence between the duo.
For those who are new to the franchise, The Director spearheads the New York branch of Ruska Roma, a powerful criminal organization. She was introduced in John Wick: 3 – Parabellum, as the adoptive mother of Wick. She also took Eve under her wing, training her to become a dangerous assassin.
However, when Eve begins using her training for personal revenge, The Director loses control over her. As a result, she asks John Wick to step in and do the job. Eve refuses Wick’s polite request to walk away. Therefore, he is left with no choice but to do the unthinkable.
