In recent months, there has been tension between Hope Logan and Steffy Forrester. Steffy misunderstood Hope to be chasing her husband Finn, unaware that Hope was secretly in a relationship with Carter Walton. Hope failed to clear Steffy’s misunderstandings who ended up firing her from the company. This did not sit well with Carter, who wanted to take revenge for his lover’s insult. He misused his legal powers and took over the Forrester Creations by unfair means, making Hope and Carter the new owners of the company.
