Episode 4 of Daredevil: Born Again may have revealed that Hunter Doohan’s character, Bastian, is the true identity of the mysterious villain, Muse. The masked graffiti artist and serial killer has been a shadowy phantom since the show’s premiere. However, the latest episode may have accidentally shown who is the man behind the terrifying mask.

Is Hunter Doohan’s Bastian behind Muse’s mask in Daredevil: Born Again?
Muse, a new addition to the MCU’s roster of villains, made his full debut in Episode 4 of Daredevil: Born Again. The episode’s final moments showed him in action, draining blood from a victim near a train track while wearing his signature mask. He is known for his horrifying methods, wherein he uses his victims’ blood as paint for his macabre artwork.
What caught fans’ attention, however, was the appearance of Hunter Doohan’s name in the credits. Doohan, who plays Bastian in Episode 2, was listed as a guest star in Episode 4 where Muse was featured, even though his face wasn’t visibly shown.
This has led to widespread speculation that Bastian and Muse are the same person, a shocker Marvel Studios may have been trying to keep under wraps. After all, Muse is one of the most unsettling villains in the series.
For those unaware, in Episode 2, Doohan’s character, Bastian, is introduced as a nervous young man seeking help from Heather Glenn. At the time, his role seemed minor, but the credits for Episode 4 have fueled theories that Bastian is actually Muse in disguise.
In the comics, Muse is the villain with supernatural abilities, including imperceptibility. This very power makes him one heck of a challenge for Daredevil, who relies on his heightened senses to fight crime. So if Bastian is indeed Muse in Daredevil: Born Again, the upcoming episodes might feature a high-stakes showdown between him and Matt Murdock.
