The injury also kept him out of the team’s season opener against the Chicago Cubs. While Freeman had hoped to play, the Dodgers opted for caution to prevent further complications.
Manager Dave Roberts explained that Freeman was eager to take the field but ultimately agreed with the medical staff’s recommendation to sit out.
