Charles Leclerc goes viral for his radio conversation with Ferrari

Charles Leclerc’s “water leak” radio exchange with his Ferrari race engineer, Bryan Bozzi, has gone viral after their humorous back-and-forth during the Formula One season opener in Australia. Over the team radio, he asked, “Is there a leakage?” to which Bozzi, seemingly confused, responded, “A leakage where?” Leclerc then explained, “I have the seat full of water, like full of water.” After a brief pause, Bozzi replied, “Must be the water.” Amused by the response, Leclerc sarcastically added, “Let’s add that to the words of wisdom.”

Fans quickly caught onto the humorous exchange, sharing clips of the conversation online. Many were entertained by Bozzi’s unhelpful yet unintentionally funny response, while others highlighted Ferrari’s long history of odd radio communications. One user wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Always love Charles radio messages. Some of the most entertaining parts of the Grand Prix.” Another commented, “Just a casual conversation while driving a multi-million dollar car at high speeds on a wet track.  Just another Sunday for @Charles_ Leclerc.”

Ferrari’s F1 season opener in Australia did not go as planned, with a series of setbacks marking a disappointing weekend. However, this lighthearted radio exchange between Leclerc and Bozzi unexpectedly became the highlight for fans. The race at Albert Park was chaotic, with unpredictable weather conditions causing multiple crashes. Six cars failed to finish, including rookie Isack Hadjar, who crashed on the formation lap.
