RHOA: Why Was Kenya Moore Fired From Real Housewives of Atlanta?

Curious why Bravo fired Kenya Moore from The Real Housewives of Atlanta? Her unexpected departure after more than a decade on the show has sparked major discussions among fans and insiders. The controversy surrounding her exit stems from a shocking incident involving explicit images of a castmate.

Here’s what we know about Moore’s firing, the events leading up to it, and what’s next for her and the show.

Here’s why Kenya Moore was fired from Real Housewives of Atlanta

Bravo fired Kenya Moore from The Real Housewives of Atlanta for allegedly exposing explicit images of Brittany Eady.

On June 6, at the grand opening of Moore’s Kenya Moore Hair Spa, posters allegedly showing NSFW photos of Eady performing oral sex on an unidentified man appeared while Bravo cameras rolled. Eady did not attend the event. On June 25, People confirmed Moore’s indefinite suspension, and by the end of the month, Bravo officially dismissed her.

During a November 14 appearance on Tamron Hall, Moore addressed the situation, stating, “Hindsight is always fifty, fifty. If I could do it all over again, I believe the photos were very distasteful, and I elevated the situation.” She continued, “I’ve elevated situations before, and I’ve taken full accountability for the things that I’ve done.” Moore also said, “I didn’t have to take it that far,” but claimed she felt “threatened” and was protecting herself and her child.

A source told Entertainment Tonight that someone allegedly found the explicit photos online. Moore claimed she acted in response to Eady allegedly using the word “gun” in a threat. A production insider disputed this, stating, “At no time was Kenya ever threatened with a weapon, nor was there ever a weapon present during the course of production.”

A source told LoveBScott, “Bravo never accused Kenya of revenge porn. That was never what the investigation was about. It was about determining if Kenya’s actions involving sexually explicit images violated the code of conduct — and they did.” Another source stated, “She not only got [the photos] from somewhere, but also got posters made.”

Moore later defended herself on X, writing, “I would never engage in revenge porn. I have never distributed private images or footage of anyone.” She added, “I have always been vindicated. I can’t talk about STORY even with people planting fake news.”
