In Episode 8, Harmony Cobel travels to her hometown, Salt’s Neck, to unearth some old Lumon aid. The abandoned town’s eerie emptiness sparked immediate curiosity among viewers, as many wondered where this haunting landscape was actually filmed.
Where were the Salt’s Neck scenes in Severance Season 2 filmed?
Salt’s Neck scenes for Severance were filmed in Canada’s Newfoundland and Labrador. The Canadian province is known as the easternmost area of the country’s Atlantic region. Plot-wise, Salt’s Neck scenes needed a location that would depict how Lumon began their ether factory and destroyed it afterward. As Kier built his following, he left the place to wither. So, the ghostly town, in a way, represents Lumon’s ghastly influence.
From Cobel’s dialogue with Hampton and Sissy, viewers got to know that Kier started at an ether factory in Salt’s Neck, slowly built the “town,” and scooped the soul of it when they moved to the now Lumon building.
As per reports, the Salt’s Neck scenes were mostly shot in Bonavista and Trinity Bay North. It seems like, in the episode, an old fish plant area was transformed to represent the abandoned Lumon ether factory.
Reports further reveal that Season 2’s exterior scenes were shot during the winter months. Filming in Bonavista is said to have occurred in April, with snow still blanketing the ground, which created the perfect backdrop for the show’s chilling atmosphere.

Apart from Episode 8, “Sweet Vitriol,” Severance Season 2 explored quite a few other outside locations in the current installment.
Season 2 was filmed in Minnewaska State Park Preserve, New York, as per RadioTimes.com. Filming locations for the fourth Episode include Sam’s Point, Lake Minnewaska, and Peterskill areas. Along with the outside scenes, Lumon’s main building is the heart and center of Severance. The building is said to be in Bell Works in Holmdel, New Jersey.
