Marvel Rivals’ next free Black Widow skin release date window revealed
Marvel Rivals will release the free Black Widow skin, “Mrs. Barnes,” during the “Galacta’s Cosmic Adventure” event.
Leaker X0XLeak revealed that this skin takes inspiration from Black Widow’s cowboy-themed look in the 1872 Marvel Comics storyline, where she marries Bucky Barnes and becomes a bounty hunter. The event will run from Friday, March 7, to Tuesday, April 11.
The Mrs. Barnes skin gives Black Widow a high-collared leather jacket, an old-timey vest, and a cowboy hat. Her weapons also have a redesigned 1870s Wild West look. As per the leaks, this skin will be free to unlock, following the trend of past event skins like the recently expired Invisible Woman “Blood Shield” skin.
Developers have not yet revealed the exact details of how players can unlock the skin. However, in previous events, players earned free skins in Marvel Rivals by completing event-specific challenges. The Mrs. Barnes skin will likely be the final reward in the event’s mini free-to-progress battle pass. This pass runs separately from the game’s main premium battle pass.
The cowboy Black Widow skin will be free, but the event may also introduce other Marvel 1872-themed cosmetics, most likely behind a paywall. The “Cosmic Adventure” branding suggests more alternate universe skins could appear in the game.
