Conan O’Brien Jokes About Kendrick Lamar & Drake at 2025 Oscars

Popular TV host and comedian Conan O’Brien took a dig at Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s feud while hosting the 2025 Oscars. The infamous beef between the two rappers was one of the major pop culture talking points of 2024. Lamar and Drake released diss tracks targeting each other, with Lamar’s song “Not Like Us” winning big at the 2025 Grammy Awards.

What did Conan O’Brien say about Drake?

Conan O’Brien took the stage at the 2025 Oscars and made a reference to Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s feud, which earned a big reaction from the audience.

After taking center stage at the 2025 Super Bowl, the feud has now made it to the 2025 Oscars. In a clip uploaded on X (formerly Twitter) by Variety, O’Brien can be seen announcing that they are done with the first half of the show and then takes a jibe at Drake.

He said, “Well, we’re halfway through the show, which means it’s time for Kendrick Lamar to come out and call Drake a pedophile.” As soon as he delivered the joke, many of the attendees present in the audience at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles erupted in cheers and laughter.

O’Brien further added, “Don’t worry, I’m lawyered up,” referring to the lawsuit the “First Person Shooter” rapper filed against Universal Music Group following the release of Lamar’s “Not Like Us.” In the legal action taken by Drake in November 2024, he alleged that UMG “launched a campaign to manipulate and saturate the streaming services and airwaves with a song, ‘Not Like Us,’ in order to make that song go viral, including by using ‘bots’ and pay-to-play agreements.”

However, the recording label denied all the accusations made by the rapper and called them “offensive and untrue” in their statement released soon after the lawsuit.
