The Avatar: The Last Airbender’s upcoming shows and projects have fans eagerly anticipating what’s next. With a mix of new TV series, animated films, graphic novels, and video games, the franchise is expanding in exciting directions. Avatar: The Last Airbender (Seasons 2 & 3)
Netflix announced the renewal of two seasons in March 2024 and the third outing was deemed the final one. The executive producers revealed what fans can expect in another installment. “For the Gaang, fans can expect more brilliant plans from Sokka, even more masterful bending from Katara, Appa, and Momo to be as fluffy as ever, and Aang to learn a new bending form (or two).” The release date remains undisclosed.
Avatar: Seven Havens (And Other Sequels)
During the 20th anniversary of the franchise, The Legend of Korra sequel series titled Avatar: Seven Havens was announced. The two-part series, consisting of 26 episodes, takes place in a world torn apart by a destructive cataclysm. A young girl, Pavi, learns about her Avatar origins and is perceived as a destroyer. Additionally, Avatar Studios leaks indicate two more sequel series on Airbender and Firebender Avatar will happen.
Ashes of the Academy (Graphic Novel)
Ashes of the Academy is slated to release in March 2025. It will explore the stories of Kiyi, Zuko, and Mai, now attending the Royal Fire Academy for Girls! It’s written by Faith Erin Hicks and drawn by Peter Wartman.
Aang: The Last Airbender (And Other Movies)
The first animated movie, Aang: The Last Airbender is set to release on January 30, 2026. It will explore the stories of young adults Aang, Katara, Toph, Zuko, and Sokka. The other two animated movie names are yet to be disclosed. However, they are in development currently.
Untitled AAA Action-RPG
Paramount Game Studios and Saber Interactive announced back in October, about their collaboration with Avatar Studios on a video game based on “Avatar Legends.” As it’s in early development, not many details are known about the project. Set thousands of years ago, the in-game players are described as “all-new, never-before-seen Avatar.”
Avatar Legends: City of Echoes
Avatar Legends: City of Echoes, a spin-off novel to the popular animated show, The Avatar: The Last Airbender will debut on July 22, 2025. Judy I. Lin has penned the book. The story will be based on Jin’s character. After her parents’ demise, she will juggle between school, survival, and caring for her ill grandfather. Meanwhile, she will stay lowkey from the Lower Ring.
