The journalist, who built a respected career in broadcasting, passed away in November 2024. Now, details from the authorities provide clarity on what led to his unexpected death.

The cause of death for news anchor Chauncy Glover has officially been confirmed. The journalist, who was found unresponsive in his home on November 5 last year, died from “acute intoxication by the combined effects of chloroethane and methamphetamine,” according to a report released by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner on Wednesday, February 19. His death was ruled accidental.

Authorities arrived at Glover’s residence in the early hours of that morning, where they found him unresponsive. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. An autopsy was conducted the following day, but the official report confirming the cause of death was released on February 19.

Glover’s family earlier expressed their heartbreak, describing him as more than just a journalist. They thanked supporters for their condolences while requesting privacy during this difficult time. In a statement, Glover’s family said, “He was more than a son and brother. He was a beacon of light in our lives and a true hero to his community.” They further added, “He was taken from us far too soon, but his impact will be felt forever.” (via People)
